What is Swanson Beta Carotene Vitamin A?

"Why do rabbits see so well in the dark? Because they eat so many carrots" - We are all familiar with this age-old adage delivered to us with unerring frequency in our youth. Naturally, our younger selves considered it to be little more than unfair propaganda for the evil carrot empire and we were wise (if a little misguided) to be so cynical.

little older, a little wiser, we now know that carrots do indeed contain high levels of Vitamin A and the name Swanson Beta Carotene Vitamin A is not just a coincidence. Sourced primarily from fruit and vegetables, Beta Carotene is one of several pigments (red, orange and yellow) from a group called Carotenoids - and they provide us with at least 50% of our Vitamin A.

This organic compound is found naturally occurring in not just carrots but sweet potato, squash, spinach and kale to name but a few. The trouble is that because it plays such an integral role in our bodies it is absolutely paramount that we maintain our RDI. Without Swanson Beta Carotene Vitamin A in our diets, we may run the risk of bad skin, poor vision and a susceptible immune system.

What is Swanson Beta Carotene Vitamin A used for?

Because Vitamin A is so abundant in our bodies, it is more important to understand its existing role as an established element than it is to think of it as a remedy. What Swanson Beta Carotene Vitamin A primarily does is help to support an existing structure around which the supply of Vitamin A is crucial. Beta Carotene is a fat soluble form of Vitamin A, which means that any surplus of the vitamin is easily expelled by the body but perhaps more importantly, it is stored in our fat. This allows for your supply to be easily replenished and aid in the following:

  • Good vision
  • A healthy immune system
  • Cell growth
  • Healthy skin
  • Treats acute infections
